The Ridley Riddle

Muslim-convert-celebrity-brainiac Yvonme Ridley became a major player in the promotion of the Aafia abduction story when she read Moazzam Begg's book Enemy Combatant and determined that the girlish screams that Begg and others heard while at Bagram prison were in fact a girl they labelled prisoner 650 and that girl had to be Aafia Siddiqui. Still today many of the Free Aafia groups refer to her as prisoner 650. One thing that Yvonne and others missed out on was that Moazzam was transferred to Guantanamo Bay a month before Aafia went missing. You can see from this article that Begg was transferred to Guantanamo on the 26th of Febuary. Aafia went missing March 30th. So Begg could never have seen or heard Aafia at Bagram Prison.

  1. Salaam/Peace,

What are you trying to prove by mentioning this on your blog?
Where was this story years back when actually Journalist Yvonne went in search of truth?
How will one believe what BBC news is saying when some news published by BBC are even censored & therefore not the truth?
I don't know what you are trying to tell others by mentioning all this?

  3. Sorry Anonymous
Febuary come before March. So Begg left the prison before Aafia went missing.

  4. The time of Begg's transfer is public record. Mistrusting BBC News can not change the fact that he was where he was. Begg does not dispute this. Also, you may not be aware of the lightly publicized backtrack Yvonne Ridley made. Let me help you. Here it is:
"British journalist Yvonne Ridley who embraced Islam in Taliban captivity told that prisoners No. 650 was not Dr. Aafia Siddiqui rather another Pakistani woman who had been held in solitary confinement for years at the Bagram US base near Kabul"
